VINELink for Bedford County Custody
TN SAVIN runs through the Tennessee Sheriffs' Association and covers county-jail custody plus notifications. The association dates the statewide program to July 1, 2010, under Public Chapter 488. A TDOC annual report adds context. VINE operated in all 95 county jails before TDOC joined. That coverage matters for Bedford. It makes VINELink a sensible custody channel even without a local public roster.
Access comes by web, phone, or app. Registration is free, anonymous, and confidential. Subscribers pick release or transfer notices by phone, email, text, app, or TTY. Operators answer around the clock at 888-868-4631. These tools track custody status and alerts rather than the full jail file.
The official TN SAVIN page lays out the program and its notification choices. Think of it as the state's alert layer. The Bedford jail stays the direct local custody contact.
Search Bedford Arrest Custody
Start at the VINELink Tennessee search. The interface can change. Read the current labels before you enter anything. Search for a specific person, and keep enough details on hand to tell apart multiple matches.
- Select Tennessee and the relevant county-jail or corrections category offered by the current interface.
- Enter the person’s name exactly, then try a reasonable spelling variation if the first search fails.
- Use an offender or booking identifier when known because it can reduce false matches.
- Compare the facility, status, and identifying details without relying on a photograph alone.
- Record the search time, then call Bedford County Jail at 931-684-4566 for time-sensitive confirmation.
A blank result does not mean no arrest happened. The person may have been cited and released, transferred, or booked under a different spelling. They may have been released before your search. The data feed may simply lag, too. They could also be held outside a covered system. Never turn a negative lookup into a factual claim about the arrest. The Tennessee VINE search form shows the blank public search state.

The blank form works well here. It shows the workflow without exposing a real person's data.
Bedford VINELink Result Fields
VINELink is built for notification, so its fields run narrower than a booking record. Labels and availability shift with the custody system and interface version. Treat any result as a point-in-time status. Verify anything urgent with the jail.
| Possible field | What it can mean | What it cannot prove |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Identity entered by the source system | A unique match without other details |
| Offender or record ID | A system identifier | A court case number in every instance |
| Custody status | Status reported at search time | Future location or final case outcome |
| Facility | Reported holding or supervising location | That the person will remain there |
| Release or transfer event | A trigger for notification | The court’s disposition |
| Notification options | Available contact channels | Guaranteed instant delivery |
Do not treat VINELink as a mugshot gallery. Tennessee county coverage promises no booking photograph. For a Bedford booking record or a releasable photo, contact the record's custodian. For a filed charge and its final result, turn to the Bedford court docket.
Register for Bedford Custody Alerts
Once you identify the right result, choose the "Get Notified" or equivalent registration control. The screen may offer telephone, email, text, app, or TTY. Select only channels the subscriber owns. Protect the PIN. Never publish registration info with a screenshot.
- Open the correct custody result and choose the notification control.
- Select the event types offered, such as release, transfer, or custody-status change.
- Enter the phone number, email address, or other requested contact route.
- Create the four-digit PIN when prompted and retain it privately.
- Complete any callback, email, text, or app confirmation required by the service.
- Keep the registration confirmation and update contact details if they change.
The PIN confirms that a phone notification reached the right subscriber. It is not a jail identifier. Do not share it with a publisher. Treat any notification as a prompt to verify. Do this above all when safety or travel decisions hang on it. The Tennessee VINE information screen shows the state workflow without subscriber details.

The public state screen works for orientation. A real notification confirmation must stay private.
TN VINE Courts Alerts
TN VINE Courts is related but tracks a different event stream. The Tennessee Sheriffs' Association says it sends alerts on court-case status plus hearing date, time, and location by phone, text, app, email, or TTY. Registration is free and confidential. It may require a PIN and callback confirmation. The TN VINE Courts page explains that court-notification scope.

A court alert does not prove a person is still jailed. Custody alerts never replace the clerk's docket either. For the official case, use Bedford's TnCIS portal. Read the docket itself there. A booking charge can be amended, dismissed, diverted, or tried. Hearing alerts track dates. The court record carries the legal history.
Fresh Bedford Bookings and VINE
A newly arrested person must clear agency reporting and booking. Only then does a downstream system show a status. Bedford posts no public roster timestamp to measure VINE lag against. The safest wording is simple. A fresh booking may not appear yet. The Daily Arrest Report is the local jail-first fallback.
Call the Bedford jail for current county custody. Shelbyville Police or Wartrace Police may hold the arrest report. That applies if their officers made the arrest. Once a person moves to TDOC custody, FOIL becomes the more relevant state source. Each handoff leaves a window where one system runs ahead of another.
Verify urgent changes: Treat a VINE result or alert as a prompt. Release and transfer can occur after an update, so confirm the current status with the holding agency.
VINELink Does Not Cover Everything
VINE is not the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator. Pretrial detainees held by the U.S. Marshals Service may not appear in BOP at all. Federal pretrial custody and sentenced custody are different stages. The Marshals also publish no prisoner photographs. Federal custody must be checked through the proper federal channel.
ICE runs its own Online Detainee Locator System. Searches there use a nine-digit A-number with country of birth, or an exact name with country of birth and date of birth. That system has upload delays and skips some categories. So a blank VINE result does not rule out immigration custody, and an ICE hit says nothing about a Bedford County booking.
TDOC FOIL is different too. It tracks felony offenders now or formerly in state custody or supervision, sometimes showing status, location, offense, sentence, parole, release details, and a photo. Many Bedford County pretrial detainees never appear there. Use FOIL only when state correctional custody or supervision is the question.
Read Bedford Custody Status Carefully
“In custody,” “released,” and “transferred” each describe custody. “Bond” is a court-set condition for release. “Disposition” names the later court action on a charge, so keeping these Bedford terms separate keeps a VINE notification accurate.
A custody entry is not a court outcome, and VINE status alone settles nothing about guilt.
Record the source, date, and time of every status. If a result looks wrong, call the agency that holds the record rather than correcting VINE through a public post. For an old or expunged court matter, follow the official court and TBI process first. Then address any downstream copy.
